Tarot, Angel and Oracle Cards

Tarot, oracle, and angel cards are spiritual tools that help us access deeper layers of intuition, subconscious insight, and emotional truth. Though each type of deck is unique in structure and purpose, they all serve as mirrors — reflecting what we already know on a soul level but may struggle to articulate. Card reading isn’t about predicting the future as much as it is about understanding your inner world, identifying patterns, and receiving guidance for healing, clarity, and personal growth.

Tarot cards have a long history, dating back to the 1400s. A standard tarot deck contains 78 cards split into the Major Arcana (spiritual themes, life lessons) and the Minor Arcana (everyday situations, emotions, actions, and relationships).

How Tarot is Used:

  • To gain clarity on a situation

  • To uncover hidden emotions or beliefs

  • To explore subconscious patterns

  • As a meditative or journaling tool

  • As a form of spiritual therapy

Tarot spreads offer a structured way to interpret the energies present in your life, allowing you to see the bigger picture.

Popular Tarot Decks:

  • Rider–Waite–Smith Tarot (the classic foundation for most modern decks)

  • The Wild Unknown Tarot

  • Morgan-Greer Tarot

  • The Light Seer’s Tarot

Oracle Cards

Oracle decks are more free-form than tarot. They don’t follow a fixed structure and vary widely in artwork, themes, and message style. This flexibility allows oracle cards to feel more intuitive and accessible, especially for beginners.

How Oracle Cards Are Used:

  • For general guidance

  • To receive uplifting messages

  • To connect with a specific energy or theme

  • As a complement to tarot readings

Popular Oracle Decks:

  • Work Your Light Oracle (Rebecca Campbell)

  • Sacred Rebels Oracle

  • The Starseed Oracle

  • Earth Magic Oracle

Angel Cards

Angel decks focus on messages of reassurance, hope, spiritual support, and divine presence. They are gentle, nurturing, and ideal for moments when you need comfort or encouragement.

How Angel Cards Are Used:

  • To connect with angelic guidance

  • To receive uplifting or healing messages

  • For emotional support

  • During meditation or prayer

Popular Angel Decks:

  • Angel Answers Oracle

  • Archangel Oracle Cards (Doreen Virtue)

  • Angels and Ancestors Oracle (Kyle Gray)

  • The Guardian Angel Tarot

Whether through tarot, oracle, or angel cards, divination tools give us a safe space to slow down and listen to our intuition. They remind us that we already possess wisdom, clarity, and guidance within — the cards simply help bring that inner knowing to the surface.

If you feel drawn to these tools, follow that nudge. Explore the imagery, the symbolism, the messages, and the way they make you feel. Every card you pull is an invitation to connect more deeply with your own soul and the unfolding story of your life.

I stumbled across tarot cards about six years ago, almost by accident. I didn’t really know how they worked, and even now I don’t feel confident reading them myself — I can never remember all the meanings! But something in the imagery and symbolism drew me in.

For a while, I found myself watching different tarot readers on YouTube. As I listened, I started to notice something fascinating: no matter how many readings I watched, there were only a handful of core stories. The details changed, but the themes were always the same — love and loss, healing and growth, lessons learned and lessons repeated.

Through those readings, I began to understand human nature on a deeper level. I saw how patterns form, how cycles repeat, and how hurt people often hurt other people. Tarot helped me see not just the world more clearly, but myself.

It became a form of spiritual therapy for me — a way to reflect, to understand, and to make sense of the emotional and energetic connections in my life. Even without being a confident reader, tarot has offered insight, comfort, and a deeper awareness of the stories that shape us all.
